About
I'm a part-time photographer with high quality digital SLR cameras and selection of lenses enjoying taking photos of people at sporting and other events in the Wellington region. Where did the name Chainsawphotos come from? It's my old sporting nickname of Chainsaw, apparently in honour of the way I mowed down the opposition (and I had to think of a name in a hurry one day)!
In 2008 I started taking photos of the Northern United Rugby Football Club teams (Norths, based in Porirua), combining my enjoyment of sport and photography, and it's gone on from there. I have now covered rugby, cricket, AFL (Aussie Rules), touch rugby, rugby sevens, tennis, hockey, basketball, soccer/football, school concert, dog agility championships, busines
s award night, a few weddings, as well as wedding anniversary and birthday parties.
I have now had several photos appear in the Dominion Post, Kapi Mana News and Taupo Times newspapers, as well as magazines: Rugby News, NZ Rugby World and D-Photo, not to mention a couple of books.
If you would like me to take photos of your event, party, gathering or sports game, contact Russell (Chainsaw) here, and we'll work something out.
